Tell Us About Your Most Memorable Tết !

We’re looking for all the extraordinary and transformative experiences, related to Tết, that you can bring to life in your storytelling. — in no more than 1500 words.

By Frank Ton (nov. 27, 2023)

Share your Tết tales! It doesn’t have to be set at Tết in Seattle but anywhere. Chronicle a Tết moment — gleeful or poignant — in under 1500 words. Accompany it with a photo you've taken that harmonizes with your tale, whether it’s a selfie, snapshot, or screenshot. We're curating stories around our community to help shed light on this amazing holiday, authentic and unseen. Just as tết's facets vary, Tết experiences are shaped by factors like your upcoming and background. We invite BIPOC, LGBTQ+ voices, and global perspectives to contribute, painting a mosaic of diverse Tết encounters in our “Tết Experiences”.

Can I submit more than one story?

Certainly, you're welcome to submit your story. We're open to receiving as many submissions as possible at the moment. Please be aware, though, that if we receive a high volume of submissions, we may have to be selective and choose only one story.

Can I submit it anonymously?

Absolutely! If you'd like to submit your story using an alias or remain anonymous, please get in touch with us at frank.ton@tetinseattle.org, and we'll provide you with further details on how to do so.

Where will these stories be posted?

The stories will be featured on Tết In Seattle's website in a new section that will be created once all submissions have been selected and reviewed. This will be accessible for everyone to view, and we aim to start having them available around February 2024.

How long should it be?

We welcome story submissions that are up to 1500 words in length. This word limit allows you to convey all the essential details without making the story overly lengthy, but it is not a strict requirement. You are free to submit shorter stories if you prefer.

Should I write in English or Vietnamese?

We would greatly appreciate receiving story submissions written in Vietnamese. However, we kindly request that you also provide an English translation along with your submission.
